Statement of the Iranian Association of Science and Emerging Technologies Condemning the Recent Atrocities

The members, instructors, and professors of the Iranian Association of Science and Emerging Technologies strongly condemn the recent attacks and hostile actions carried out by the enemies of humanity - actions orchestrated by the United States and the Zionist regime - which have resulted in severe damage to the nation’s scientific infrastructure and educational institutions. Among these, the targeting of national scientific facilities and academic centers, including Sharif University of Technology and other scientific institutions, is a clear indication of hostility toward the path of scientific growth and progress of the Iranian nation.

These infrastructures and scientific centers have not merely served as venues for academic instruction; they have been foundational spaces for the expansion of knowledge, inspiration, and the cultivation of the next generation. Many of these scientific capacities, including programs and activities organized in collaboration with universities and research institutions, were dedicated to promoting science and introducing children and adolescents to knowledge, technology, and the wonders of the universe. Universities such as Sharif University of Technology have, in recent years, played an important role in fostering the scientific curiosity of younger generations through academic programs, workshops, and educational events.

Alongside the damage inflicted on these scientific infrastructures, we have also witnessed the cowardly assassination of prominent scholars, scientific figures, and university professors at the hands of craven enemies; thinkers who devoted their lives to advancing knowledge, supporting the nation’s scientific development, and educating countless students. The physical elimination of these scientific figures is not only an attack on individuals but a direct assault on the intellectual capital and scientific future of a nation.

Furthermore, amid these ominous acts, several members of the extended family of the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults, along with our dear and innocent children in Minab, fell victim to the malice of heartless aggressors while playing and simply living their childhood, leaving a profound sorrow in the hearts of the Iranian people.

These acts constitute clear and grave violations of fundamental principles and established norms of international law, including obligations under the Geneva Conventions and foundational rules of international humanitarian law. In particular, the principle of distinction between military and civilian targets and the prohibition against attacking scientific, educational, and civilian institutions have been blatantly disregarded in these assaults.

The members, instructors, and professors of the Iranian Association of Science and Emerging Technologies believe that such actions will not halt the scientific advancement of the country; on the contrary, they will only strengthen the resolve of Iran’s scientific community to persevere in its pursuit of knowledge, technological development, and self-reliance. History has shown that thought, science, and truth cannot be silenced through threat or terror.

While expressing profound solidarity with the grieving nation of Iran and with the families of the martyrs and victims of these events, the Iranian Association of Science and Emerging Technologies calls upon the international community, scientific institutions, and global organizations to explicitly condemn these atrocities and pursue legal measures to hold those responsible, both perpetrators and instigators, accountable.

We remain steadfast in the belief that the path to Iran’s progress and dignity lies through science, education, research, and the technological cultivation of future generations. The mission of expanding knowledge among the children, adolescents, and youth of this land is one that no threat can impede.
